what lock back knife do you carry when you hike?

i do lots of day hikes. along with my camelbak, rain gear, map, compass, and snacks, i always carry a knife and multi tool.
i just got a CRKT m16-z EDC and am super excited about it. i've had very good experiences with CRKT in the past.

i'm interested to know what lock back knife other day hikers carry?

Leatherman Wave. Good locking blade, quick to open. Plus all the extra goodies, saw, pliers, screwdrivers…

  1. The only time I go hiking is when I am out hunting, and I carry a Buck lockback with me. It's little, but it does the trick when I need to use it.

  2. I have a Kershaw Blackout. I have owned it for about 8 years. Its the best knife that I have ever had. I carry it every day not just when I hike. I would be lost without it.

  5. I'm one of those guys who's never really found a folding blade that I've liked all that much.

    I personally prefer a fixed-blade.
