    I find if I pack all my heavy items first so there in the bottom off my pack and my light items up the top,my centre of gravity is lower making it harder to lose balance.

    What kind of pack is that? How do you attach a ground mat (like thermarest) or sleeping bag to it? I have a buttpack I would prefer to bring along to keep on me at all times but that pack (compared to an alice pack) would not be compatible… :o(
