   Its a wound, gas or not, so yes infection is possible. The blisters are part of the burns, 2nd degree ones at that. Did you go to A&E (ER)?

   The plastic is put on instead of gauzes because when changing out dressings, the skin won’t stick to the plastic. If they used a gauze, theres a possibility of the skin peeling off when it’s removed.

   Plus it’s for protection
