   In an adult they are more likely to still have remaining oxygen in their blood, so you pump this oxygen around the body by doing 30 chest compressions, then give the two rescue breaths. However, this will change depending on the situation of the casualty.

   here in the uk it is said that you only give rescue breaths if the casualty has sufferd from drowning as that would cause lack of oxagen otherwise it is cardiac arrest and in this cas you would do chest compressions first renewed my first aid cert with StJohns Ambulance 2 weeks ago.

   this is a very acurate video, and based upon protocols in the uk, at this time, it depicts a casualty being resuscitaed for sudden cardiac arrest! These guidelines are devised by the ERC european resus council.

You Sandy, call 911 tell them i have a male/female adult who is unconscious i need an ambulance ASAP and ask them what is their estimated time of arrival, give them your cell phone # and let them hang up on you and get back to me. try to wake the victim up, listen for breath 10 seconds, no breath, give 2 breath, still no breath them you check pulse,

    You overlooked a very important step. Everybody gets it wrong on these video demos. Call 911 or have someone do it for you BEFORE you start the rescue breaths and the CPR.
